Skills Support for Redundancy (SSR)

Skills Support for Redundancy (SSR) provides support for people who have been made redundant, including those under notice of redundancy with their employer.

You are entitled to targeted and bespoke training and employment support opportunities if you meet the criteria below;

• You are aged 19 or over and are under consultation of redundancy or under notice of redundancy.
• You are newly unemployed (up to a maximum of 6 months) and are not yet claiming benefit (at the start of the SSR intervention)
• Are unemployed and have recently started claiming Job Seekers Allowance, Employment Support Allowance or Universal Credit.

Early identification of your career objectives and training requirements is a key component to the success of the SSR support, which features assessment and guidance throughout your training programme.

This support is available to help you to refresh your skills or identify transferrable skills to help you to compete in today’s job market.
